has anyone heard credible talk of doing this again? I really wish we could do this. i still have my ticket stub from the one and only played on 10/6/01

on the darkest of days the sun still shines. 

Being a Blackhawks fan and a UM hockey fan i'm pretty pumped at the idea of having Hawks vs Wings and UM vs MSU both play an outdoor game at THE BIG HOUSE! It only makes sense (and no I don't have any credible info that says it will happen) The Hawks and Wings are playing @ Wrigley on New Years '09, and UM-MSU really got the momentum rolling by playing a few years ago. Now they should both want a home venue and the most sensible location is the big house to try and get 100,000+ for a hockey game, they being UM & The Wings. 

I sincerely hope that it does happen no matter where it is.  It certainly seems more likely with the NHL establishing an annual outdoor game.  100,000 to see a hockey game might be a bit of a stretch, but I would be one of them for sure.  I am sick of the fact that I can't go to the game at Wrigley.  Two Original Six teams in an outdoor game!  The NHL has to get away from playing on New Years Day.  That day belongs to College Football and the holidays are hectic enough without throwing an epic hockey game into the mix.  I got whiplash last year watching the Michigan/Florida game wind down and the Buffalo/Pittsburg game go to a shootout at the same time.
