It's faster and stronger. Linebackers are faster than Mike Hart. Speed matters in the league. You don't have to be blazing fast, but

To compare, Jerod Mayo is 6-1, 242 and runs a 4.53. Hart is 5-9, 200 and only runs a 4.52. He had problems staying healthy at Michigan and will get pounded in the league by guys like that. He won't be extremely productive. No way. He may be able to stay in the league as a third down back because he can block, and get a tough yard or two, but he has to improve his pass catching skills or he's going nowhere.

You're right about a lot of things in this statement - Hart isn't fast, and he will take some hits in the NFL. However, I think that Hart has landed on a team that will employ him in situations where he doesn't necessarily need to be fast. What I mean is that with Addai and Rhodes, you get two backs who like to come right at you. Addai's got this weird loping style, and he looks to use his speed to get through into the LB levels. Rhodes just wants to lower his shoulder and plow. One of the Colt's biggest plays with Edge was that zone-stretch that allowed the RB to either get out of bounds, or cutback - which is a perfect play for Hart to run. It takes patience to stay behind your blockers and wait for that cut-back lane to develop, which is exactly what Hart's bread and butter was at UM. He doesn't need to be fast, he needs to be patient in that type of situation. Also - say what you will about his pass-catching skills - they're much, much better than Kenton Keith's...

Will Hart be an HOF every-down back? Probably not. But I think he's got more of a chance to be a regular contributer on the Colts than you're giving him credit for, if only because the system in which he's going to be used is conducive to his skill set. I get that you're a Patriots fan, but objectively, there were very few teams that Hart could be productive on - and the Colts are one of them.

Re:MIKE HART! Mike may have a really big mouth but he'll find a way to get touches sooner or later.

MJD is fast and a lot more physical than Hart. Aside from being small, they don't have much in common.

Re:MIKE HART!
