By the way, Neil Armstrong had exactly 10 hours 41 minutes and 26 seconds of space flight under his belt when he was selected as the commander of Apollo 11.

Neil Armstrong flew missions in Korea, was a test pilot, and had over 900 flights. Not really the same thing. I think he was qualified to fly a space mission.

The Constitution states that someone needs to be born in the USA and 35 years of age. Did I leave out anything else that qualifies someone to be president?

I am not going to try to are argue about experience and I don't think Obama should either. Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush all had experience, what good did it do us? I don't want the next president to be someone that is experienced in the ways of Washington. I want someone that is going to lead the country in a new direction. That takes someone with courage and vision not someone that is trained in the old ways of doing things.

That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World .... 143 days.

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start.

AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him. We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America? Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!

On the other side, Ho Chi Minh died before the end of Vietnam and historians consider that a loss for the U.S. So the death of a leader, or lack there of, does not constitute a win or lose!

I agree, however, when McCain says "I'll follow Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell" (cue Howard Dean screech) he is certainly implying that capturing bin Laden will bring automatic safety from terrorism. That's the problem I have with all this. McCain is making these outlandish remarks to win support of those who take these on-the-surface comments as fact or promises, when really they are ambiguous and empty. Unfortunately, many Americans won't see these remarks for what they are: enthusiastic, yet not representative of what McCain can and will do as President.

Just because you capture the head of an organization, does NOT mean you crumple it...This is especially true of terrorism, as there are many types of leaders within a cell. It would be a huge demoralizing blow to the group, and thus far we have dealt a great many blows by capturing or killing many of the head figures. But just because we dont kill or capture OBL, does not insight winning or losing.

We turned the tide in WW2 without Hitler offing himself...we were winning the war there. Yamamoto was losing his war, yet wasnt dead.

Oh, and TK? That was the BEST DAMN POST I HAVE EVER READ FROM YOU!! It's too easy to assign blame to Clinton or Bush for this. They both had intelligence regarding these idiots but who could have really predicted a bunch of morons could hijack plans and crash them into buidings in our country? I don't blame Bush, nor do I blame Clinton. This was going to land in somebody's lap-Bush just happened to be the guy sitting there. Sometimes it's what you do after something like this happens and I think Bush did fine in the days immediately following. He got tough, told everyone "we'll get those bastards" and had the whole world sympathetic to our tragedy. It's what has happened in the years following that's become the real issue, especially since the guy who masterminded the whole thing is still running around.

I was thinking the same thing this morning. If something is wrong with the country, the economy, the world and how the person just found out from the dentist he has a cavity it's gotta be Bush's fault!!

I'm pretty sure if everything was rosy, W would be breaking his arm patting himself on the back, so, yeah, he can take plenty of the blame. You wanna be the man, you take everything that comes with it.

Let's not forget that it has been proven that the Bush administration ignored the warning about Bin Laden being determined to strike in the US.

I didnt say Bush was NOT at fault, I asked if you would declare Clinton as much of at fault as Bush...I didnt say that Bush was not TOTALLY at fault...thats all I ask...Man, Haters of Bush wont give the guy ANY credit, even where credit is due! (That should spark some remarks!)

If nothing else, as Dennis Miller says, he's kept our asses from being blown to smithereens the last 7 years and maybe that's all we should expect from a president.

And let's not forget that it was on W's watch that we had our worst terrorist attack in the history of the country and 7 years later the mastermind of the attack has yet to be brought to justice. But not to worry, everything will be fine now that W is officially making birth control a form of abortion. That and keeping gays from getting married will save the USA from Al-Qaeda.

There has been no hint of personal scandal in his presidency.

Everything is good because W doesn't cheat on his wife. Great, he is doing exactly what he swore to do when he got married. Doesn't make him presidential.
As far as non-personal scandals that affect all of us--so we may consider them "personal"--there is entering a war under false pretenses, firing the department of justice lawyers, Scooter Libby. I could go on, but I really think it doesn't need to go any further than the war. How many people have died and how much money have we flushed down the toilet?
I was no fan of Bill Clinton, but would take him in a heartbeat of the current yahoo. After Clinton's 8 years, the country needed a shower. After 8 years of Bush, it's more like an acid bath.

This would be the “running the country into the ground” part. Do you think this is just happenstance or a fluke and Bush has nothing to do with this? Yep, no accountability, no responsibility. Pretty typical day at the office, huh? Sorry if being an American and questioning your leaders is a problem for you. It’s not for me.

Please. The president gets way too much credit for the economy and way too much blame when it is bad. I don't like paying $3.65 (we're poor here in Ohio) for gas either. But, have you ever heard of supply and demand? WHY is this Bush's fault? Why do the Dems still resist off-shore drilling? I think you better check your figures about highest unemployment % ever! The housing market was caused by greed. Greed from the banks and their ancillaries and borrowers (don't you think people should take a little responsibility for their OWN actions?) I've already addressed Bush running up the national debt by not vetoing pork-laden bills.

3. I know you must get your facts from leftist writers or blogs.. Bush received his wings to fly multi-million dollar military aircraft. Did you ever get your wings? Bush has an MBA from Harvard. (I also didn’t have the golden spoon in my mouth and have everything handed to me from my dad, but hey, whatever works for you.)

I don't care if it's called a war or an occupation. What does matter is we have beaten down al-qaeda and are winning the war on terror.
