goblueinohio "The thing that you guys forget is that it is a privilege to be an Ohio State fan. Ya, other school's talk a lot of trash about us, but 95% of them wish they were us." d-oh!! you got us! i respect the love that you have for your school but this is exactly why OSU fans have a bad reputation around the country. Since I didn't come out and say it directly, you guys are in that 5% that doesn't wish to be us. Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Florida, LSU, Notre Dame, and Alabama fall into that category. Some other programs approach the cusp but don't have the success and prosperity that our programs have achieved. And maybe not directly be Ohio State, but have the success that Ohio State has had recently and over the course of college football history.

I hate OSU and hope they get the hell kicked out of them in LA. Go USC. I could care less about the way they feel, if they were worried, WHO CARES!!! for all of us wishing them luck how respectful, but for me there is no luck I want them to have except for the same luck they had in both NC games. The Blue is all I care about, and OSU is not friend of mine. Sorry. Too bad OU didn't win. GO BLUE!!!!! Lady

You guys were VERY fortunate to win this game. One review away from a loss on that punt fumble out of bounds play. I hope this game is remembered by all top brass who decides BCS bowl selection. Because it IS a tie breaker performance if it comes down to Ohigho st, and some other team to play for NC.

go_blue1970 Biff Tannen I'm rooting for OSU next week, although with them struggling with Ohio today, I just don't see it happening. I mean, anything can happen. We lost to App. State and beat Florida, but that was really improvements throughout the course of a season, you guys have to play them next week. I hope you guys win, I'm rooting for you, but if I was betting on this game I'd take SC. easy for you, you're in Vegas. I rooted for osu 1 time, 2002 against miami. Never again. I live in ohio, and the average osu fan is a jerk. I don 't want to come to these boards to read about someones love affair w/ osu. If I wanted that, I'd use espn boards, which are a joke. Any Michiogan fan that roots for osu, doesn't live around these people and do not get it. I have had osu fans flat out say they hate me, because I like Michigan. Some of my good friends are osu fans and are great people until you bring up college football, then they turn into morons. I will be watching the game next week w/ osu fans and will be rooting for the trojans! lol nah man, it's not even like that. Born in Flint man, I know what it's all about. I know the hatred. But I guess since I moved down here, it's a little easier going. I work retail and I know a lot of my customers are Ohio State fans, and they know I'm a Michigan fan. We get along fine. Light-hearted jokes but down here it's all in fun. I'm sure if I still lived in Michigan, it would be a lot different. The reason I say I hope OSU wins is because it's non-conference. I don't really have that much against OSU to wish them bad luck in a non-conference game. I hope they smash the hell out of SC. Represent the Big Ten, cause right now we're really looking like the weakest conference out of them all. With all that being said, I think SC takes it.

umich1 Harbaugh04 umich1 I fully expect tOSU to win by at least a touchdown next week...so who cares what happened this week? They won, so they didn't embarass the conference. Yay. So a team that struggled vs OU at home is going to go on the road and beat USC by a TD? And you fully expext that?? You better hope they have Bennie in to back you up on this.. I expect OSU to make a statement next week- and personally I should hope you would want them to, the Big Ten looks like crap in the national picture as of late. I expert USC to make a statement lol.. As for the BigTen, I dont care what the nation thinks.. I hate OSU I hope that OSU gets killed. We say that the Mich vs OSU is the biggest rivalry in sports right? Theres alot of people on the east coast that will say its Red Sox vs Yankees ... Do you EVER think you will hear a Red Soxs fan say " I want the Yankess to win the World Series cause its good for the American League? Hell no lol .. Michigan fans should never NEVER want OSU to win any game lol... Come on people, take off your I Love the BigTen t-shirt and put on My Two Favorite Teams are Michigan and Whoever plays Ohio State

I've said it many times before the season that OSU loses 2-3 games this year & I'm sticking to it, especially after witnessing their lackluster performance at home yesterday

Wow, this thread has went all over. My thoughts: - I'm in the camp that doesn't really care about the OP. Not saying I don't want to hear a Buckeyes perspective, but to me that means some kind of analysis on the game or comparing our teams, not listening to a pep talk for Buckeye fans. Don't mean to sound crappy, but it just doesn't interest me. - I root for OSU when they play ND. That's it. - I'm not understanding the argument for expecting OSU to win. Saturday's performance aside, what exactly gives them an advantage? They are playing without their best player and USC WILL be up for a chance to kill a Big Ten team. Especially one who has had so much success lately. And yes OSU got fired up after being embarrassed by Florida by going out and....getting embarrassed by LSU...? I'm not saying it's impossible, but I can't understand someone expecting an OSU win.

Personally, I care how the big ten does. not the Big Ten, but the big ten, everyone except OSU. They could go 0-12 every year and i would have absolutly no qualms with it. It all stems from the fans. I have met probably 6 OSU fans i could have a football conversation with, and 3 of them are related to me. And the quote about 95% of the country wanting to be OSU is the most arrogant possibly most ignorant thing ive ever heard. Only OSU fans think anyone else can stand them. I would be a michigan fan for the rest of my life and have them never win another game, then root for OSU ever.

As Michigan fans we're familiar with what it's like playing against Tressel's Buckeyes, as well as flying out west to take on Petey and the Trojans. IMO the Bucks aren't nearly on the same level with what USC has been doing lately. They'll have a defense that will bring tremendous pressure on Boeckman, and it's always tough as nails to run the ball on them. They make you earn every yard. Also, OSU has very average receivers that don't pose much of a downfield threat, if any at all. USC will throw everything they have at Boeckman and Wells unless a couple of big downfield pass plays makes them back off. On offense I'm haven't seen much of Mark Sanchez yet, but USC always seems to have explosive playmakers all over the field who just have a way of rubbing all that talent in your face. They can put up points and put 'em up quick. OSU is walking into a meatgrinder next week and the Trojans have to be licking their chops. I'm expecting another primetime blowout until Tressel shows me otherwise. But anything is possible, I guess, and I'd prefer to watch a great game. If Wells isn't on the field the buckeye offense is actually pretty pathetic. I'm also predicting a QB controversy in c-bus later this season when Boeckman isn't getting the job done in a loss or two. TP looks as good as advertised so far.

As far as this conference loyalty business goes, it seems to be ESPN driving this one forward with all this SEC nonsense. I will admit getting caught up in it last winter when we had a lot of B10 bashing and Michigan was playing Florida IN Orlando, OSU was playing LSU IN New Orleans, and Illinois was playing USC IN SoCal. I mean that was just ridiculous and it kind of felt like it was us against the rest of the country. I was kind of pulling for the Bucks and then I felt like a complete idiot as LSU piled up 31 straight points and coasted to an easy win. Never again LOL. I root for all teams in the B10 in OOC or bowl games except for OSU and Sparty.

Beanie is an absolute beast who may just be able to carry you guys and keep USC's offense on the sidelines. I hope he's healthy because it would be a shame not being able to see the best back in the country going up against the best defense this year. Just my two cents...

The only thing I will add is that USC doesn't really have the down-field threat either. They have a slew of possession receivers just like Ohio State with a bit more size.

USC only has to do what LSU did, the DB's play in OSU's WR's faces and jam them at the line then send the house on Boeckman. OSU's WR's are possesion receivers and aren't physical Pryor had a couple of decent runs against YSU & OU but also looks tenative out there and got stuffed on more plays. USC will know when he comes into the game he will be in there to run the option or QB draw.

umich1 section43row50 dont care about how YOU feel about YOUR team. this is a Michigan forum, respect it. Seriously, could you be any more of an ***hole with this post? This is the most ignorant, obnoxious, impolite, rude, and pointless post I have seen on this board in 7 years. And its not the first time you have done it. For some reason, you think being rude to Ohio State fans is necessary since you are a fan of Michigan. This is embarrassing to the rest of us that are Michigan fans and Michigan students and alumni. Our rivalry with Ohio State is based on, yes, somewhat of an underlying hatred, but mostly a RESPECT for the opposing football program. I can't tell you what to do, but I would highly suggest growing up so you don't make such an *** out of yourself. you wanna talk about respect? its a 2 way street, you get what you give. i suggest you head on over to buckeyeplanet and look at all the lovely things they say about us. dont even create a user name they will eat you alive. just lurk. i hate them with a passion, and i hate it when they come to town because they overtake the city like they own it. maybe you would like to watch a video. (viewer discretion is advised for both videos) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2VhXvvZekU you cannot honestly tell me that this has ever or will happen here. you get what you deserve. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inBEd-B7D9I you got anything else to say you are more then welcome to Pm me.

Re:My Reaction to OSU's Performance Today

I honestly don't understand why people root within the conference, and I've never heard a good argument to back it up. So the conference isn't called a joke by other fans with their own opinions? That's bull. Conference teams are like your enemies. Aside from the lowly ones like Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota.. you know, the teams that can come out and beat you, but don't traditionally have amazing seasons year after year. When it comes to the top teams, UM, OSU, PSU, ILLI, MSU, there should be no reason to ever root for them to win. Maybe in bowls but I still wont root for OSU in a bowl. I respect them , I love the rivalry, and like I said in the other post, I watch them every week. But to me there are 2 types of wins each week. A UM win, and an OSU loss. Boo hoo if they call the Big 10 weak.. that's when we make it to the NC or Rose Bowl or any bowl and beat an SEC team. If Michigan can go to the capitol one bowl and defeat the defending champs and their heisman QB in their own state with little problem, why do we have to worry that USC beat ILLI in the rose bowl, or OSU lost another national championship. Does Michigan get a trophy for another Big 10 school winning the NC that says "Conference brother of the national champions 2008" As for the buckeye posts on this board... They arent even close to bad. The ones who are regulars here always come to talk friendly rival football. Nobody signs up to just post UM SUX!! and never come back. It's not like this board gets 10 pages of new posts per hour like on one of the big sites.. It's more of a friends type atmosphere here where if you dont care about the subject of the post, you move on to the next one. It doesn't bury the important posts 10 pages deep that take you an hour to find.

tUOS is very lucky to come away with a W. 5 OU turnovers and the non-call on the illegal block in the back kept OSU in it. Isn't it ironic that despite winning the last two weeks, OSU has fallen in the polls the last two weeks? What do the pollsters know that Buckeye Nation doesn’t? Mmmmm...... Fight On!
See you in another life, brother.

Wow, where do you start? 1) I really could not care less about this rooting for the Big Ten in OOC games, especially where OSU is concerned. What any of this has to do with my team I have no idea. It's Michigan first. Period. 2) I have no problem hearing from OSU fans on this site. The few that come here have been fun to banter with, for the most part. Don't really care about AVBucks impassioned plea to the troops as I'd rather hear more specifics about the team but like it's been said, I don't have to read it. 3) I agree, without Wells OSU will not beat USC. Combine that with giving Petey 2 weeks to prepare for a game and I'm going with USC. And yes, I'll be rooting for USC.
