Threet has potential to be a good QB but it looks to me like he needs to work on his footwork a lil' bit it looks like he still throwing high school balls and just lobbing the ball up.I'd like to see him step into his passes and put a little more heat into them.

Sheridan is horrible IMO when he gets rushed he panic's and throws wild passes. He will cost us some games if he continues to throw wild balls when under pressure.

I think they throw like you do in MADDEN lol!!!!!!!!

Threet  missed way to may sideline pases!! His passes were at least 5 yrds ahead of his recievers!!! That needs to be corrected if he wants to be the full time starter.

I have no earthly idea. The whole house today was screaming to get him off the field and I remember asking myself "Why... is this guy... even seeing the field right now?" Seriously, I never want to see this guy trot onto the field again. For any situation. Stick with Threet, RR.

neither Sheridian nor Threet are throwing the ball well.  i think thats why the majority of the plays are short less than 5 yard throws.  the offense does look a little better when Threet is in.  i know thats not saying much right now but i got the feeling that he is getting more comfortable and is starting to assert himself more.  now if he could just throw the ball.

My answer and opinion are very simple in theory. I think RR just want's one of them to make a play, whomever it may be. If Threet isn't playing well, send Nick in to try and make a play. If Nick isn't playing well, send in Threet to try and make a play. Personally I don't care who makes the plays, as long as one of them does it.

Just my opinion though, it is subject to change.

Anyone arguing Threet as the certain starter better have one heck of an explanation, his accuracy was AWFUL today.

I don't feel all that strongly about it, since neither has been great.  But I sure left the stadium on Saturday thinking that Threet was clearly the starter.  I thought his hand-offs were better than Sheridan's, and his fake hand-offs were much better, which is one reason he ran relatively effectively.  It looked to me like the defense didn't take passing coverage very seriously with Sheridan in the game.  Whether or not Threet can go deep with any accuracy, he's at least a threat to try those passes.  That helps to spread the field a little more than Sheridan can.  I have more confidence that Threet's accuracy will improve with playing time than I have confidence that Sheridan's arm strength will improve with playing time.

Absolutely no claims to expertise on the subject, so I may be totally wrong.  But I thought the offense was more effective with Threet because of things he was doing that don't show up in his passing stats.

If Threet could hit a reciever he should be the starter. I just dont want him running the ball unless were in the red zone, other than that, hes not quick enough. If he can hit 3-5 passes that get at least 20 yards I will feel a little bit better about him.

I thought his hand-offs were better than Sheridan's, and his fake hand-offs were much better, which is one reason he ran relatively effectively.

That's a good point, his fakes were much more convincing, he seems more comfortable with the read/option and his speed was just fine (although I still find myself screaming "SLIDE!" every time he takes off... I did find it odd that we got away from those read options in the middle portion of the game considering how HARD the Miami DE's were biting on them.

It looked to me like the defense didn't take passing coverage very seriously with Sheridan in the game.  Whether or not Threet can go deep with any accuracy, he's at least a threat to try those passes.  That helps to spread the field a little more than Sheridan can.

Another good point, but one that is somewhat moot if we can't manage to do anything with that space through the air.

I have more confidence that Threet's accuracy will improve with playing time than I have confidence that Sheridan's arm strength will improve with playing time.

I do too, but until Threet proves that he can actually hit those guys, I don't think any of us can say he's managed to seperate himself as "the guy".  This is an entirely differen t discussion if he manages to hit ANY of those routes down the sideline Saturday.

RichRod wants someone to run the read option. Threet made several bad decisions and Sheridan seems better at making those read decisions. I agree that Threet makes the fakes better and is more deceptive with the ball. If he can start connecting downfield and running the read option better, we will have a QB we can win with.
