Between that and Paul Pierce several years ago, Iowa has a bad reputation for this kind of stuff.

I'm stunned. Not necessarily by the allegations - but the alleged cover up from within the highest authorities of a university. Just awful.

whats sad is when you read the article and then see all the comments being posted like this is some kind of joke.   i bet she didn't think it was to funny, and I'm pretty sure none of those people posting would be taking it so lightly if it was there daughter or sister.

The comments were disgusting...  I have 2 daughters and if something like this happened....well I would probably be in jail myself with no cover up from the athletic dept.  SAD SAD SAD I always had alot of respect for Iowa, and I prefrence HAD.  Why is this not a headline on sportscenter instead of another T O stupid stunt.  Where is the outcry over this like we heard about Reggie Bush taking money,  is this not much more serious?   Hey Carty here is a REAL story you should cover.

Not to downplay the allegations, but it seems quite odd that the girl would first go to the athletic department instead of the police.

No doubt, not downplaying any of this. Since they have been charged I have reason to suspect some crime occurred,and after months and months, I hope they "fry em"

The girl, now shes got some issues beside the obvious. If she was assaulted, and I dont doubt she was, she happens to be at a school who require 3/4 to have half a noggin, what in the hell went wrong in her brain to delay calling, then to first contact the AD Office. I wonder what she does when she sees a house on fire, calls the Plumber. I guess she has not watched TV in the last 20 years, being assaulted/rape is a crime and an emergency, you call the people who are in charge....THE LAW!

She was constantly harrassed by these scumbags, yet calls the Univeristy Officials, not the Campus Police (basically State Troopers) They would have had a nice concrete cell waiting for them had anyone who knew what to do been called. Finally she calls the 5-O and the scumbags finally get to visit Bif in Jail.

I sure hope its not a little too late, and she kept good evidence and they get a long and unpleasant stay at Corn Pone Max.Security Prison for the next 15.

Rape is a very serious allegation.  Perhaps the Univeristy was being careful about disclosing the reason for the suspension in the recent wake of the Duke Lacrosse situation.

Agreed 100%.  There has been plenty of times where individuals use poor judgment at a party, regret it the next morning, and then decide to play the rape card.  I wouldn't doubt for one second that they were investigating the facts before accusing someone of rape.

Disappointing..

It seems the general quality of athletes, and the team management thereof, is in a declining balance. I fear the same is true at most schools, which diminishes my interest in college athletics. Perhaps I'm becoming too much of a prude. I expect a higher standard out of athletes - not perfection, but at least a desire to be a role model for younger generations.
