Previously on Lost... - Wednesday, January 16, 2008 5:03 PM
Two weeks from tomorrow, it's back. I am really looking forward to this. Lost is the only show that I go out of my way to watch every week. In fact, it's the only show (besides football) that I watch on network TV.

Any Lost fans here?

From what I’ve been able to piece together, the recap will be on from 8-9. Episode 1 of Season 4 (The Beginning of the End) will be on immediately following the recap from 9 – 10.

A LOOK OVER THE PAST THREE SEASONS WILL ATTEMPT TO SHED SOME LIGHT ON WHERE THE SURVIVORS OF OCEANIC FLIGHT 815 ARE AND IF RESCUE TRULY IS AT HAND, IN THE NEW SPECIAL, “LOST: PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE”,AIRING THURSDAY, JANUARY 31 ON ABC

ABC once again invites new and avid “Lost” viewers to take another look at one of the most talked about and critically acclaimed shows. “LOST: Past, Present & Future” will explore the series in a way that will bring new viewers up to date -- but which current viewers will also find illuminating – in anticipation of the fourth season premiere episode. The special will take an in-depth look at the mysteries of both the island and its inhabitants and recap the secrets that have been revealed, as well as those that remain unanswered. “LOST: Past, Present & Future” airs THURSDAY, JANUARY 31 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

When Oceanic Flight 815 crashed on an island in the middle of the Pacific, each survivor was given a choice to live together or die alone. Thrown together in this mysterious place, they have struggled to overcome shadows from their past in order to survive and answer the questions that plague their new lives on the island. Where are they? Is rescue on its way? What else is on this island? In “LOST: Past, Present & Future,” relive their story of survival to prepare for the shocking season four premiere that will change everything.

BIG fan!! Anxiously awaiting the end of the month

JJ Abram's also got that new movie coming out this weekend..."Cloverfield". The trailers this summer during "Transformers" were quite titillating! [:p] Almost kinda looks like the island monster is now attacking NYC [:p]

Other than football it's really the only tv show that I go out of my way for. I've been re-watching the previous seasons and I still enjoy each episode. I hope this season is the best yet. We turned a big corner with last season's finale, can't wait to see how that starts to play out this year.

Who's everyone's favorite character?

I've always liked Jack, I used to like John Locke, and Hurley and Sawyer are good for a laugh but I think I'm gonna have to go with Desmond. That guy is on one epic quest.

Well, I'm glad we'll all finally have something to talk about soon.

oh, by the way, if Michael ever shows up again... yeah it's on.

I really don't have a favorite character. I like them all and the roles they play in the story. I know what you're saying Michael. He became very annoying in season 2, with all of the constant whinning about "My boy this, my boy that", etc... I was glad when they killed off Anna Lucia. She was a @#$!.

After watching the season 3 finale twice now, I believe that from here to 2010, Lost will take a turn to the sci-fi world of time travel, alternate realities, and the like. Maybe when Jack and Kate got rescued, they returned to an alternate reality similar to the one they left, but with slight differences, like Christian being alive or all of the passengers of flight 815 really dead. Or, maybe what everyone is calling a flash forward is really a flash back and Jack and Kate have been to the island before? This would explain why Jack is "so tired of lying" and wants very desperately to get back to the island. His nature to want to "fix things" is telling him to go back and fix whatever it is they screwed up.

I've read a couple of time loop theories and can see that coming into play. If you go back and watch the Pilot episode, watch how Jack responds to everything and everybody, like he's been there before. Or, when he leads the survivors from the beach to the radio tower, he looks at Kate and she says: "Here we go again". This may also explain how the Other’s got such detailed files on the 815 survivors. Every time through the loop, they add more information to each person’s file.

Or when Ben tells Jack in the finale: "History is about to repeat itself, right here, right now". At this point he knows that Jack is about to fail again and that he's blown another run at the whole thing. Locke knows too, desperately trying to stop Jack by telling him "This will be your last chance". But the call gets made, and the jig is up. Ben's head sinks. Locke slumps off into the jungle, knowing there's nothing more to be done.

Anyone got any theories to share?

That's the 1st time I've heard the timeloop theory. VERY interesting idea!

Ever since Hurley was in the insane assylum, I've kinda thought 1 of 2 things:

They're ALL in Hurley's mind. The entire show & their reality as they know it is just a figment of Hurley's imagination while he sits in the hospital. Either the reason he's insane, or a coping mechanism to get him through his stay there.

Secondly........They're in some kind of pergatory, and that as soon as they exercise whatever personal demons they left behind, or make ammends for their earthly wrongs, they get to leave "the island".

Fonzie - Check out this site for alot of different theories: http://darkufo.blogspot.com/

The whole thing with the entire show being a figment of someone's imagination was already done with St. Elsewhere. I don't think that they would copy that already.

In one of the highlight/catch up shows, JJ Abrams said that they characters are not dead and that they are not in purgatory. In one of the episodes last season, the one where the girl parachutes on to the island and tells them that the news media had reported that their airplane was found on the bottom of the ocean and that there weren't any survivors, Sawyer said something like: "Well, we ain't dead." It was in response to what the girl said, but JJ said that it was really intended to dispute all of the purgatory theories that were floating around.

If you like the time loop theory, then you'll like this one. Find the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode called "Cause and Effect". Watch it, or read a synopsis of it. If you agree with some of the things I've said above, the similarities of this episode will blow your head apart - right down to the whispers. And even if you don't agree, it was still a pretty kicka$$ episode - even for non Star Trek fans. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cause_and_Effect_%28TNG_episode%29

I did. I thought it was OK, with the text on the screen. I had completely forgotten about Sawyer shooting Tom, aka Mr. Friendly, aka Zeke.

We don't know who is in the casket. Obviously, it was someone that screwed over alot of people, since no one showed up at the funeral. Ben maybe? Michael?

Here’s a couple of links that discuss the newspaper clipping that Jack was carrying around.

I had been leaning toward Ben or Locke, but Michael makes a very interesting theory as well.

You know....With JJ making Cloverfield also, I'd been saying that it looked like the monster from the island was now in NYC, and I think this backs me up.........

The "loud noises" sound a little like the Monster. It may have appeared to the character and driven him/her into suicide.

* This would mean the Monster is or is now able to leave the Island.
or It may have been freed along with the Surviors

I actually think the person in the casket is Sawyer. I just cannot figure out who else would Jack be so concerned about Kate going to the funeral for.

As for last nights recap, that scene with Sawyer executing Zeke is awesome...I'd forgotten about that.

Truly the best show on tv and hoping it continues that way.

That's for takin' the kid off the raft. Cold.

Hurley: Dude, he said he surrendered.

My thoughts and observations from last night's episode:

Hurley saying that he's one of the “Oceanic Six” leads us to believe that only 6 of them get off the island.

When Hurley was getting interrogated by the cop, he denied ever knowing Ana Lucia. Is he trying to forget or is he and the other 5 not allowed to discuss what really happened on the island? Is this the same secret Jack referred to in last season’s finale when he said he was ‘sick of lying’?

When Hurley hallucinates in the interrogation room and sees Charlie swimming in the window, did you catch what it said on Charlies hand? It said: "They need you". The same message that Charlie later delivered to Hurley.

Jack comes to visit Hurley in the hospital. I'm guessing that this is before Jack goes off the deep end and becomes the bearded pill-popper that we saw in last year's season finale. He does mention that he's thinking about growing a beard. And when Hurley mentions going back to the island, Jack is adamantly against it. Never say never, dude. In last season's finale, Jack was telling Kate that they have to get back.

The black dude claiming to be from Oceanic was downright creepy. “Are they still alive?” He knows that Hurley knows.

Am I the only one who thought that Hurley was going to end up buring down Jacob's tinder box of a cabin?

And who was that sitting in Jacob's chair? It sure looks like Christian Shepard to me:

And who's eye is that in the window? Mikail?

HO! HO! HO!
Last but not least, I’ll leave you all with something I noticed but have no idea what it means. The word ‘HO’ shows up three times this episode, in three different forms. First, glance behind Hurley as he’s freaking out over Abbadon trying to take him away – there’s a small plastic(?) sculpture of the letters ‘HO’ on a shelf back there. Later on, he makes reference to Charlie’s ghost showing up in the convenience store right next to the “Ho Ho’s”. And finally, playing HORSE with Hurley, Jack misses two shots. Hurley’s response: “That’s HO”.

H = 8th letter in the alphabet
O = 15th letter in alphabet

HO = 815, as in Oceanic Flight 815

Here's a good site, where I get alot of info from: http://darkufo.blogspot.com/

Dude....that pic of Christian is freeeaky! Didn't realize that was him in the chair last night. All I noticed at regular speed was someone in a suit. Thought it was Ben that popped up in the window, even though, I know he was "tied up" with the group. Also.....the HO/815 thing is pretty interesting too. I've always heard they hid "easter eggs" like that in the background, but've never had the time or inclination to go back & really look. Did you figure out the alphabet thing yourself, or was it posted somewhere?

Also....the whole Abbaddon being the smoke monster thing was HIGHLY interesting!!

Did you read this one as well.........

It was in the "The Beginning of the End" by Vozzek69 on the Dark UFO site.

Abbaddon - In Hebrew Abaddon means "destruction". In Job 26:6; Proverbs 15:11 it means "place of destruction", or "realm of the dead". In Revelation 9:11, it is personified as Abaddon, "Angel of the Abyss". Many biblical scholars believe Abaddon to be Satan or the antichrist. A mistaken view since the angel "Abaddon" possesses the keys to the Abyss into which Satan is hurled or imprisoned, indicating that he serves as Satan's "jailer" and must therefore be someone else.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!! What if this is true.... Wow Abrams would be a scary genius type dude. Now I'm going to be thinking about this forever. Maybe once LOST is finally concluded on the island, and everyone is safe. The monster attacks. Thus this is Cloverfield. And all the HO's (815's) Have to vow to go back to the island to finish the "game" thing that is in that Vozzek69's theory of everything I read.

WOW

I can't comprehend all this info. My mind is blowing...!!!!!!111

That's what Abbaddon means, but did you read this part about his 1st name...Matthew. Makes for an interesting contrast.........
quote:
Who is Matthew Abbaddon really? And what are to make of that name? Matthew means ''gift of the Lord.'' By contrast, there's the hellish allusion of ''Abbaddon.'' My trusty TV Watch editor, Tom Conroy, pointed out to me that in the book of Revelation, Abaddon is ''the angel of the abyss'' and even the personification of death.

You'll never be lost on 'Lost' again

The "enhanced" repeat of Lost's season finale last week will be extended to other repeats. Starting Feb. 14, reruns of the prior week's episode (Thursdays, 8 ET/PT) will include on-screen pop-up graphics that explain references and characters.

Okaaaaayyyyy........So who was surprised by the baby???

And what's the significance of Miles wanting 3.2 mill, and who wants Ben THAT bad??? He's been on the island almost all his life? Do the founders of Dharma know he was behind the mass murder of the original colonists?

Yeah, I was surprised by the baby being Aaron.  They sure had me thinking that Sawyer got Kate pregnant throughout whole episode, up until the end.  That’s the thing about Lost, for every 1 question it answers, it asks 10 new questions.  Was it just me or did Kate look really good last night?

I don’t know what the significance of $3.2 million is.  Even Ben questioned him about the amount.  Ben hasn’t been on the island his entire life.  I think that was the purpose of Sayid finding his secret room of clothes, foreign cash and passports last week.  I think that he can come and go as he pleases.

I’m sure the Dharma people have figured out that he killed off all of the Dharma people on the island.

The one thing that caught my attention was when Locke brought Ben breakfast.  He brought him a book and Ben said that he had already read it.  Lock said something like “you may want to read it again, because you might catch something that you missed the first time”.    If you buy into the whole time-loop theory, this is right up your alley.
See you in another life, brother.

I'm guessing that Aaron is one of the O6, only because in last week's previews they said that "You'll find out another one of the O6".  We already knew that Kate was off the island, based on the Season 3 finale.  Since Aaron is the only other Lostie we saw off the island, it would have to be him.

Don't forget that Jack is really Aarons uncle, so that may come into play at some point.

How are you now YtownBlue?  What happened to MGoBlue?

Jack and Claire are step-brother and sister, they just don't know it.  Christian Shepard fathered  both of them.  Like sand through the hour glass, so are the Days... wait, wrong show.
See you in another life, brother.

Me too. I still only vaguely remember it. So you think that's the reason Jack didn't want to see Aaron....because Aaron's really his half-nephew, and he hasn't forgiven his father yet???

And yes.......Evangeline looked SMOKIN' last night!!!  Think I'm gonna have to ditch psycho, & add her to my Desert Island 5!!
