At first I thought I would be totally against changing either of the jersies, but I like the looks of the new away jersey. This may just be me, but those yellow inserts on the side are going to look awesome combined with our helmets.

ORIGINAL: maizecraize215 Also I wish the numbers were sewn on. wouldnt suprise me if they were. i think this is a mock up, not an exact duplicate of what the players will wear.

Home looks great as usual, but I really wish we could do away with the maize piping.

Look for a return of white sweat socks instead of the black or blue. That's fine with me.

I don't care for the Maize piping either. If it were up to me I would go back to the white uniforms with the block M on the sleeves.

Another possible mock-up of what the away jerseys might look like!

ORIGINAL: MaizeRageWolverine Another possible mock-up of what the away jerseys might look like! ............No.......... I would rather have the other ones... As for another topic, what would you think about adidas making the stripes on the cleats maize for Michigan? I wonder how that would look. Or even like these blue cleats? Maybe put some maize stripes on it. Can anyone photoshop these and a pair of black cleats with maize on them?

Well I used paint to see how they would look and I love the blue cleats with only the stripes "yellow". I couldn't figure out how to post it though I had no url.

As I've said before, "3 stripes on the helmet, 3 stripes on the logo." Adidas would be stupid not to market that.

I have just seen the official Adidas images of the authentic home & away jerseys. As much as I begged I couldn't get the images (they're under embargo) but they are *not* what is shown in this thread or at the Women's football academy. I'll describe them as much as best I can. The home jerseys have a maize block "M" on the shoulder, the number is a little thicker and seems to be placed a little higher than on past jerseys. There's also a small (1/4 inch wide by 1-2 inch) vertical maize strip running down from the collar that has Michigan in blue. The away jerseys have a thin maize piping straight across the chest. There also have a small maize strip on the back of the collar that says Michigan in blue. Both have a small Adidas logo on the front. The images I saw were front and back shots.

OK, look, adidas can do what ever the hell they want to the away jerseys, but who the hell gave the approval to screw with the home jersey! I assume that it had to be cleared with UM? Phil, what you just described sounds horrendous! Maize M's on the shoulders? Maize strips? what in the world! I can already predict what is going to happen. When the jerseys are officially relaesed, whether it be before the season or at the first game, the public is going to throw a FIT that they would dare change the home jersey and then Bill Martin will come out with a statement along the lines of, "We realize we have made a mistake to tamper with the Michigan jersey, it is a big part of our tradition and we are currently working with adidas to restore the jersy back to its original splendor." Any takers?

Phil, please tell me that was a joke like my topic starter... And in your opinion, disregarding the tradition of the jerseys, did they look ok other than that or were they really bad? If they wear them are they respectable? Try to give us detail on paint. Just paint what you saw on a blue shirt and a white one.

I really hate the mock up of the away jersey. The maize slots on the side don't fit and look a bit too NFL'ish. As for Phil's description of the new Home jersey... I certainly home that the greatest uniform in sport has not been changed at all, less the swapping of the nike/adidas logos. I might have a meltdown.

Any idea when they will be released to the public? The home jersey sounds awful, but I would like to see it before I say too much.

I really hope that the home uniforms are not changed... that would be a sin. If the aways are changed up a little, that's ok, as long as it not too drastic. If they are released as Phil described, its time for a good ol' fashioned game called bombard Adidas with letters/e-mails/phone calls.

I don't understand how you could have a job in sports marketing for Adidas and not understand that you DON"T MESS WITH THE HOME UNIFORM. Anyone involved should be fired because they clearly don't understand Michigan and they don't understnad the backlash they will receive, starting with me. I live a mere five miles from Adidas' North American headquarters. If necessary, I will picket their headquarters on all our behalfs!!!!
