The Wolverines (1-1) have scored a Big Ten-low 39 points entering their first road game against the Fighting Irish.

Threet has potential, I just wish RR wouldn't keep pulling the guy out of the game.

 

I wish he could complete a pass down-field consistently. Well actually, I wish both our QB's could do that.

IDK if it's just me, but Rich MAY be trying to motivate Threet by pulling him and inserting Nick.  No offense to Nick, as I'm sure he's worked hard, but I think the staff knows that Threet has to be the guy who is going to lead the team this year.  I'm not saying he's much better (at this point, anyways), but I just can't see Sheridan leading this team.  again, I hope both do well in their time that they're given, but I think the coaches know that ST is the better of the two

For Michigan to succeed this year, I believe that Threet needs to step up and be our starter.

I also think that the more opportunity Threet has to be in there with the other starters in a game situation the better the chances are that he develop some rapport with them and is able to start hitting guys. We've seen what we needed as to who has the most potential this season, meager as it is. We should keep Threet in there and let him get the experience. It seemed to totally derail any momentum that existed when he got pulled against Miami.

I think this is the right call and I'm glad RR did it.  Threet did have a bunch of overthrows on Sat., but I'd rather have a guy miss a receiver than throw into coverage over and over like Sheridan did in the Utah game.  Also, Threet actually looks better running the ball than Sheridan and he made some nice plays here and there on zone reads.

I would just like to know why there aren't more slants or hooks being called.  It seems like the only passes we attempt are screens or deep outs.  I can't recall too many attempts at cross patterns at all in the first two games.  With all the speed we have at receiver, combined with the talent we have at TE, I think quick slants could have the possibility of breaking for some big plays.

I also agree that Threet gives this team the best chance to win THIS year from what I've seen out of both QB's. 

I like this move. Keep him in there so he can get into a rhythm and stick with him the whole game unless he is totally out of it.

I don't think this is anything special and certainly doesn't ordain Threet.  Hec, RR didn't even tell him direct.  Threet actually heard it from Smilovitz during an interview, and seemed kind of surprised.

At this point neither of them has come close to staking a claim at the starting spot.  Until someone does... play away.

Good thing he's starting, just KEEP him in the game. For the love of God please don't let Sheridan see the field for ANY reason.

What RR is seeing in practice is probably way different than what he sees in a game.  I'm sure he's hoping (as we all are) that one of them settles down and performs to their ability.  Once we see consistent play out of either on of them, we will have our guy.
