It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness...
As you will recall, last month both Kevin Grady of Michigan and Doug Worthington of tUOS were both arrested for OVI. In addition to the OVI charge, Worthington was also charged with speeding and driving a vehicle with plates not registered to it.
It should also be noted that Kevin Grady is 22 and that Doug Worthington is 20.
Given the complete facts listed below, we have an under aged person arrested for OVI, plus two other charges and a legal aged person with 1 charge. One would think that the punishments for each would be about the same, or maybe a little more harsh for the under aged person who was charged with three counts, instead of one, right?
Wrong.
Doug Worthington has never been suspended from the team. He's never missed a practice or workout with the team. Today, St. Tressel said "As far as Worthington goes, Doug will be suited up and ready to go."
Meanwhile, Kevin Grady has been suspended since his arrest and will be suspended for the season opener against Utah it's unclear when he'll return.
St. Tressel is some disciplinarian, huh? Just Win, Baby!
I can hardly wait to hear the Buckeye's spin on this.
The facts:
July 26, 2008: Ohio State defensive tackle Doug Worthington, 20, was arrested over the weekend and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He had a blood-alcohol level of .095. According to OSU campus police records, he was charged with speeding, OVI and was also cited for driving a vehicle with plates not registered to it.
According to athletic department policy, first-time offenders must undergo alcohol counseling but are not automatically suspended. Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel was not available for comment Monday.

August 4, 2008: Worthington is permitted to practice with team. Tressel offered no more insight into the status of defensive tackle Doug Worthington, recently arrested and charged with a DUI. Worthington suffered no obvious demotion on the depth chart, as he was lining up with the top four tackles during drills.

August 27, 2008: "As far as Worthington goes, Doug will be suited up and ready to go," Tressel said yesterday. "Exactly when he'll get his car keys back (be sent into the game), I don't know that answer at this moment. But it won't be at the beginning." (

July 2, 2008: Michigan running back Kevin Grady, 22, was arrested and charged with DUI. He had a blood-alcohol level of 0.281. Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez said Thursday that junior running back Kevin Grady has been suspended from the team after the former East Grand Rapids standout was charged July 9 with drunken driving.
"He's been suspended from the team, and is no longer working out with the guys," Rodriguez said at the Big Ten football media day. "He's working out on his own. He's still attending classes. (

August 4, 2008: Grady is permitted to return to practicing with the team, but is still suspended. "He's still suspended as far as actual games, but he's practicing," Rodriguez said after Monday's workout. "He's done enough to earn his status back on the team, but he's not done enough yet to warrant playing time. There'll be some playing suspension, but that's yet to be determined." (

August 25, 2008: As expected, Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez announced today that junior running back Kevin Grady will be suspended for the season opener against Utah. Grady's DUI arrest on July 2 prompted the suspension, and it's unclear when he'll return.
