I doubt if a lot of those offers are any good anymore, he listed Michigan, Oregon, Washington St. and New Mex and PSU as his favorites. Thats a very odd list. Whats strange about all this, is if you go to say FL message boards, they don't even want him, they name 3 QB's they would rather have, LSU fans don't seem to like him. I saw on youtube several posts saying if he went to Michigan he would be dumb, and that was from fans from several schools. I also have seen posts from people from San Diego, who really have a problem with him and his attitude. I always thought he would fit in best at Arizona St, or TX ATM He maybe a decent QB, but Michigan is set there now, and we may only have around 23 spots open this class, we have other needs that are more important.

MaizeRage6320 ScottsdaleBlue A former coach at Michigan, whom I know personally, said that Forcier was not a good QB....Either one of them. I saw Jason play. I was not impressed. I've seen Tate play. I'm not impressed. And neither are the people at Michigan I talk too. I don't care how many passes he completed in HS. I completed over 75% of my passes in HS. Bobby Hoying completed 60% of his passes. He got the scholly to Ohio St. and I didn't. Completion % doesn't mean ****. OC Michigan Fan is right. Ever seen the movie Multiplicity with Michael Keaton. The more clones he makes of himself, the more off-center and different they become. Tate Forcier is a good QB, but he has no business playing at Michigan. Go Blue!! So I guess you know much more about Tate's abilities than Michigan's football staff, huh? I don't care what you think about completion percentage, 77% against the likes of top California competition is incredible. They continue to recruit Tate, this is clear. You also need to re-evaluate your ability to break down a player's tape if you think what Tate does is unimpressive. Multiple times he is all but done and finds a way to make a huge play out of nothing. He throws very accurately on the run, and he hits so many receivers in the hands down field it's sick. The kid can play, and I think he has a much brighter future than his brothers had. If Tate Forcier comes to Michigan and ruins Big Ten defenses I will not be surprised one bit, but I would say the same about Newsome. Both are great prospects. *Tate also holds many more major offers than his brother Jason ever did, which is a good indicator. The only other quarterback in the country with more offers is Aaron Murray with 52, Tate only has a measly 34. Stop with the hate people. Amazing.....you didn't read a single word I said.
The division between the Rich Rod supporters and the Rich Rod bashers/Carr supporters is amazing and has turned this place upside down.

I really did. I addressed the fact that 1- you think Tate is not impressive, and you also claim the people at Michigan aren't impressed yet they continue to recruit him, 2- the fact that completion percentage apparently means nothing, 3- the fact that you think Tate is a Jason clone and he can't play for us. You may have said Tate is a "good quarterback", but by the other words you used you seem to think differently. Tate is being recruited to run a much different system, so he will be much more effective at quarterback than his brother was at UM. Michigan used to use big, strong quarterbacks for a reason, this is why Jason never worked out. Tate is a spread offense quarterback, and its a spread offense he is most likely to run in college.

kentuckywolverine MichFan4Life .... and flat out lied about his "official visit date" with Michigan even though Michigan is no longer actively recruiting him) What did he lie about his official visit date? He's either coming one day or the other. Tell Rich Rodrigeuz I said whats up for me, will ya? Oh, you don't actually know RR? Then how do you know he is not recruiting Tate any longer? He lied about his official date in the fact that one is scheduled with the University of Michigan, as of this moment that date has been picked by Tate as the day he may like to visit, but it has not been confirmed or accepted by Michigan. I don't have to know RR to know that Michigan is not actively recruiting Tate. Thankfully for fans, there are people who make a living in the recruiting business and part of their job description is knowing who Michigan is and is not actively recruit, who Michigan has and has not offered scholarships to, and who Michigan has and has not set up official visits with for the fall. The fact that we have only a limited number of scholarships reinforces that fact that we aren't going after Tate, when you only have so many spots open you don't do something stupid like sign 3 QB's and leave a hole somewhere else.

Especially when there are two MAJOR duel-threat QBs in the state of Michigan for 2010, and UM plans on pursuing both with the expectations of landing one. That would be tremendous overkill if they got Forcier.

I say stop recruiting Tate or any other major dual threat QB and just get Thomas Gordon from Cass Tech. Michigan needs a safety, he is a rising Safety prospect who can play QB in an extreme case of need. He is a prospect that is worthy of a scholarship that we probably can get who won't scare off Newsome and Beaver. We should just be like, "Sorry Tate, but screw you." Also, why do people mostly think that Newsome is our future QB? What about Beaver? and what will happen if Threet throws for like 2225 yards this year with 225 yard rushing? Will our QB commits be rethinking their commitment?

#1, I'm going to trust that RichRod knows what he's doing with the qb recruiting process. #2, the last 2 NC winners, Florida and LSU, with Leak/Tebow, Flynn/Pereloux and the, "oh crap, there went our season," Oregon & WV, with Dixon and White, have proven to me that it takes more than 1 qb in the spread to win. I would assume that a spread qb knows they're going to take hits and their shelf life is shorter than a pocket passer. Welcome aboard Korea!

Big Will Campbell even let it slip last week that it is probably already a foregone conclusion that Gordon will be joining his Cass Tech friends at UM. On a somewhat related note, it'd be nice if Cass Tech could evolve into Michigan's own little Glenville. We need to lock that school down, no more of this nonsense in letting star prospects get away from there (Gholston, Barksdale, probably Dior Mathis next year).

I just watched a couple video highlights of him on youtube and he looks pretty solid. He has great mobility and was very accurate on his passes. Definately would not mind having him eventhough he is a little cocky!

I would venture to guess that if you are the starting QB for your HS football team, regardless of class or prestige, you are going to be a little cocky. With how thin we are at QB right now, I would love to have either Forcier or Eugene Smith in addition to Beaver.

He sure seems to be rated high for the offers he has listed. And being an Indiana boy, I'd think Michigan would be on his radar more than a kid from Florida or California.

Tate looks like a great QB prospect. He has a nice looking HS arm, and speed. Good, smart playmaker too. Once he gets Barwisized, he will be fine at the helm.

good enough for me. frankly, i dont care what qb we bring in to go with beaver, i just think as long as we get another to compete, we'll be far better off then we would with just beaver, whether he eventually starts or not. Competition does everyone good

Did he go to the Jimmy Clausen school of PR? I like that he's open about the experience, but I sure felt better when Newsome was coming in.

Yeah, I liked having Newsome on board too. Forcier dosen't look to bad though, in my opinion anyway.
