I forgot about Jack & Claire

Me too. I still only vaguely remember it. So you think that's the reason Jack didn't want to see Aaron....because Aaron's really his half-nephew, and he hasn't forgiven his father yet???

And yes.......Evangeline looked SMOKIN' last night!!!  Think I'm gonna have to ditch psycho, & add her to my Desert Island 5!!

Keep in mind that Jack and Claire don't know that they are step-brother and sister, unless they somehow discover this, before Jack gets off the island.  I think that he doesn't want to see the baby, because it will be a constant reminder of Claire and the others that were left behind on the island.  The guilt will overcome Jack, as we saw in the season finale last year, when he became a pillpopper and was going to commit suicide.  Hence, the pleading with Kate to "Go back" and that he's "Sick and tired of lying".

Verrrrry interesting..............

Q: The last time we saw Desmond, he and Sayid were being taken by helicopter to the freighter, but it had been taking an unusually long time to arrive. What's up with that?
A: There's a reason for that, and you'll find that out in this episode. And you'll find out why it's so difficult to get to the island.

I thought there weren't supposed to be any breaks?  Is it because of the writer's strike?

I believe so.  They had 8 episodes complete, when the strike started.  We lose 3 episodes for the season, as there were supposed to be 16.

RE: Previously on Lost... - Friday, February 29, 2008 2:24 PM
Great episode last night!  I guess this explains Desmond's flashes that he has.  Every episode that has been Desmond centric has been great.  I used to think that Jack was the 'key" to unlocking all the mysteries of the show, and then Locke, but now I think that it may be Desmond.

Did anyone else pick up on Mr. Whitmore buying the ledger from the Black Rock?  And who was selling it?  Tovar Hanso.  An ancestor of Alvar Hanso of the Hanso Foundation.  The same Hanso Foundation that is behind the Dharma Initiative.

One other thing I noticed is when Jack and Juliet were questioning Daniel about the amount of time that it took the helicopter to reach the freighter.  Daniel said that their perception of time on the island is different than off of the island.  BUT, when Sayid and Desmond were on the freighter the calendar on the wall said it was Dec 2004.  This shows that time moves the exact same speed on and off the island. The calendar on the boat matched the date the Losties on the island expected it to be based on the number of days since the crash. Time effects are only noted when traveling to or from the island.

The writeup of this week's episode is up on the Dark UFO site:

I did notice the Black Rock bit, but not who was selling it. Don't think I ever knew that piece. Did notice the calendar as well. So......Who do we think is Ben's man on the boat?? Fisher Stevens? And missed the part where he was saying they were ordered not to answer Penny's calls....baby was cryin' getting ready for bed. What was that all about. I got to go back & catch about 10 minutes of it today

RE: Previously on Lost... - Friday, February 29, 2008 3:11 PM
I don't think that Ben's man is Minkowski for two reasons:

1. He died and in the interview with Henry Ian Cusic, he said that we won't find out who Ben's man is for another couple of episodes.  So, unless Minkowski pulls a Christian Sheppard and is seen roaming the deck of the ship, I think he's out.

2. I think that whoever opened the door to their room is Ben's man and Minkowski was strapped to the bed when that happened.

I also think that Ben's man cut all of the lines in the communications room.

He really didn't say anything as to why they were ordered to not answer Penny's calls.  He said something like every so often, a flashing light went on his console, which indicated an incoming call. They were under strict orders never to answer these calls, which were made by Penny.

I really liked how the presented Desmond having split streams of conscienceness.

Good points about Fisher. You're right.....It's unlikely to be him then

Alot of people think it's going to be Michael, but seeing that nothing on this show ever seems to follow the path of the obvious choice, I would be surprised if Ben's man on the ship is Richard.  We haven't seen him or any of the Others since last year's season finale when they were at “Tent City” waiting for Ben’s return from his hike to the radio tower.  Remember when Locke showed up there with his dad in a bag?

Still don't think it's Michael?  I also think Penelope is in it with her dad and will turn out to be bad

IMO, the weakest episode of this season.  Not too much action and not too many clues given in the dialogue.  For an episode that was supposed to be Juliet centric, Ben was the real subject of attention.   "Did that rabbit happen to have a number on it?" and “See you guys at dinner” made me laugh out loud.

For those of you who think that the Smoke Monster can shape shift (cue Metallica background music) you saw it in the form of Harper last night.  A little background info here, there are fans of Lost who think that Smokey can take the shape of anything, including people.  When Smokey shows up, he is usually accompanied by rain and whispers, both of which we had last night.  Personally, I don’t buy into it, but you never know.

The one thing that we learned from Harper is when she said something to the effect of, "Why shouldn't he like you, you look just like her." to Juliet. I’m assuming the “her” that she was referring to was Ben's childhood friend, Annie.

I can’t figure out what Ben’s game is that he’s playing with Locke and we all know he’s playing some sort of game.  I don’t buy Ben willingly sharing his intelligence in return for some little freedom.   What exactly did Locke get?  The Widmore reveal seemed a bit too obvious for Lost.   Ben needs Locke to believe that Widmore is the enemy (whether he is or not) to accomplish his next goal. The only way to do this is by physically showing him, because as Locke points out several times “The problem Ben, is that I don’t believe you”. Although Locke is a man of faith, Ben’s track record is way too spotty. Locke needs a visual. Ben provides.

And what’s with Juliet walking right past that big sign that read “Emergency Shut Off Switch”?

Next week’s episode seems to provide some answers.

The one thing that I've learned while watching this show is that the previews lead you to believe on thing, but what you think is going to happen usually doesn't.  After watching the previews to next week's episode, everyone's got to be thinking that Michael is the man on the boat and that Sun is the final (they did say final) member of the O6.

Don't be surprised if neither turns out to be true.  For Ben's man on the boat they said "a face that you thought you'd never see again."  Maybe the island has resurrected one of the dead others, like Tom or Mikhail.  It could be Niki or Palo for all we know.

I don't think Jin is really dead, eventhough Sun is at his headstone and it says he died 9/22/2004, the day the plane crashed.  I think he will be manipulated by Ben and will remain on the island.  But I don't get the scenes with him buying the stuffed Panda and trying to see the Ambassador's daughter & baby

Great mind game, huh? Half flash back (Jin), half flash forward Sun). Definitely kept you guessing until the very end. I don't think that Jin is really dead, either.  Agree with you about the date on the tombstone. This is just part of the lie that the O6 is fronting. He's still on the island with the others that did not get rescued.

What was up with Hurley when he first got to Sun's apartment? He asked if anyone else was coming, Sun says no and he's like "Goooooood". I got the feeling that he was glad that he was going to have Sun all to himself. It even looked like he was going to move in and plant a big kiss on her.

What's going on on the freighter is straight out of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner. A boat stuck on the ocean, the crew going crazy, wrapping themselves in chains and throwing themselves into the ocean. Although, the doctor did say that the ship was moving. I don't believe what the captain said about Ben staging the whole crash. I think that was Whitmore.

Kevin Johnson, huh? I can't wait to watch Sayid open a can of Iraqi whip-ass on you. I was really hoping that it wasn't going to be him. I guess since he's been in the cast list all season, that should have given it away.

And next week someone is going to die? I wonder if it will be some character that we know or will they be bringing out the redshirts?
See you in another life, brother.

I'm not so sure about all that, as he'd obviously not seen the baby before. If he was now that intimate with Sun, you would think he'd of been there for the birth, and held her before. I just don't think he wanted to see any of the others......His last "visit" from Jack didn't seem to go so well.....A bit awkward

What struck me was how none of the crew seemed surprised at her jumping off, and none jumped in after her. Also thought it was VERY out of character for Dez not to jump in to save her.....almost as if something was holding him back. Ditto with Sayid

Ding... Ding...Ding

I was kinda wondering if this might be when we lose Jin. Hope not.....I've always liked him
