Preseason injuries thus far - Thursday, August 21, 2008 10:28 AM
http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080821/SPORTS0201/808210395/1131

Zirbel - knee, out for the year
Robinson - knee, out several weeks
Warren - knee, day to day
Huyge - high ankle sprain, week to week
Brown - hip, day to day
Minor - day to day

Anyone else????
Ferrara switched to OL, could start in 2 weeks.

Whoa....
The division between the Rich Rod supporters and the Rich Rod bashers/Carr supporters is amazing and has turned this place upside down.

Zirbel and Huyge are huge....  we don't have any depth on the O-line to start with, meaning there's literally a true freshman or a player who has switched positions in backup spots now...  sigh.

We couldn't afford one single injury this year and now they're starting to pile up.  Wonderful.  Pretty soon it's going to be open tryouts.

I hadn't heard about Donovan Warren's injury or Minor's. No good here. O-line is paper thin. Starting to feel much less optimistic about this year.

Yeah the one thing we couldn't have this year was injuries, we were going to take our lumps this year anyway, but these injuries are going to make things very difficult especially since most are on the offense.

We're going to need our defense to play like the 2000 Ravens

. O-line is paper thin.

i wasn't taken seriously last time i said it, but that is the exact reason why i feel RichRod may try this a11 offense that is becoming the new craze all around the net. doing this would drastically reduce our need for a OL. if we had a a11 built into our offense as a "reserve" that we could use when needed because of injuries it would help us win. we have more then enough depth at skilled positions.

In going with my determination to be positive this year, look at the bright side.  We all knew it might take a couple of years to get it together, just think of how experienced our Sophmore O-Linemen will be after playing 12 or 13 games their freshman season!
When your team is winning, be ready to be tough, because winning can make you soft. On the other hand, when your team is losing, stick by them. Keep believing.

Starting cornerback DonovanWarren didn't practice Wednesday for precautionary reasons, Rodriguezsaid ... Running backs Carlos Brown and Brandon Minor, both of whom hadbeen slowed by minor injuries, fully participated in practice.

I'm not going to take you seriously this time either.

This entire concept is based upon a loop-hole that defines "kick formation" and I will guarantee you that that loophole is closed the instant someone attempts to implement it at the college level.

Warren, Brown and Minor are fine. Brown and Minor were back practicing full strength yesterday, and Warren himself said he's just a little stiff and if the season had started, he would've been out there no problem.

Zirbel being out is not good at all. But maybe one of our younger guys will step up and play well. Maybe Ferrara takes his place??

With the spread offense, isn't it designed to, for the most part, get the ball out of the QB's hands as soon as possible, or to let him roll out and "figure it out"? (I know, a lot of comma's)

It's not like Threat or Sheridan are going to be doing the usual 5-7 step drops that Henne used to do on a consistent basis.

Obviously we want our "best" out there, but I think that with this style, we can adapt to the injuries  and weaknesses.

It seems that for much of the formation we don't need the "Jake Long" style of OL, but an OL who will make contact and then keep moving to "hopefully" pick up somebody else throughout the play.

Oh, my god, everyone seems soooo negative. I guess we should just lie down and forfeit. Give me a break. There is a lot of wah wah tonight, if we don't have faith who will. The media is bashing us, other teams are bashing us, and now the fans are bashing us. Can we play a game first, before you all count us out for dead. Let's get a grip, shall we.
