Theres a preview of NCAA Football 09 on ign.com

It just shows a list of all the new features and what not in the game. Some sound really cool. Great news for ps3 fans. It will run at 60 fps this year.

I was able to uncover some more info.  Talk about graphics upgrade.  Check out the improvements between last years 08 versus the new 09.  Much more definition and detail!

Features List was recently released and all I can say is THANK YOU GOD!  I've always has the complete rosters were real names for every team; so I wouldn't be playing with '#7 QB' for example, and this year it'll be much MUCH easier for every one else to enjoy the same luxury with online roster sharing!

COMPLETE LIST (I've bold faced some of my favorite new features)
Wide Open and Authentic College Style Gameplay
* Bigger holes, cutback lanes, and open receivers, making the game feel more wide open than ever before
* Directional pump fake on the R stick
* New college specific tackling engine

Home of the 12th Man and Home Field Advantage with new mini-game components
* Pre-play confusion and difficulty making adjustments when on the road against tough teams
* All new toughest places to play with dynamic rankings

All-new Mascot Mode with User Controlled Celebrations
* Mascot Games
* Interactive TD celebrations

College Atmosphere & Pageantry
* All-new Dynamic Crowd System
* College sidelines are packed with additional players, mascots, cheerleaders, and more
* All-new authentic fields with new textures, lighting, and field degradation
* New college player models, including more than 50 alternate uniforms
* User Customizable Stadium Sounds & Music
* Breakaway crowd reactions

Depth & Innovation
* Online Dynasty is here!!!
* Roster file sharing online
* Improved recruiting system in Dynasty mode highlighting ease and accessibility
* New post game presentation and play by play commentary
* 1-4 player offline co-op
* Return missed field goals
* Bluff your play art to confuse opponents
* Formation audibles
* Smart routes
* Bobble catches
* Better passing control
* Post play continuation
* All-New Mini Games
* Random play selection in practice mode
* Quick replay
* CPU vs. CPU (watch mode)
* Smooth 60 FPS on PS3
* Even teams option in play now

Improved graphics are always great and expected. Im really happy to see alternate jerseys again. I'm just waiting to see create a school back in the game. Name sharing will be a great new feature if its easy to get a hold of accurate names. I'm so used to typing names in for an hour before I play my first game so this is a great idea.

I think you forgot the ability to return field goals. Me and my friends would always try to do that even though it would never work. Glad to see its finally implemented.

Anyone else excited to play as the Wolverines this year?

1. New system

and 2. They arent as powerful

Sometimes I get bored after a while in dynasties and what not because UM is always a top dog. Now we got to play with a younger team that wont get very high ratings on offense like we're used to.

I too get bored after awhile with the dominate dynasty.  It sure will be fun to work our way up instead of just staying on top.  Can't wait for '09

I play on Xbox Live all the time and I HATE cheese players more than you'll ever know.  Constantly scrambling going for it on 4th and 14 from their own 15 yard line....UGHHH...Play the game realistically like it's meant to be played!  Anyway, my gamertag is MaizeWolverine.

ya, I play a lot the first month or so the game is out. I'm more of a shooter online gamer, but if they tone down the lag a little bit, I'll keep playing NCAA Football online.

The cheesers are the worst.

I'm 1-2 vs West Virginia and both losses were by 7 points.

I'm 4-0 vs Florida and every time they kept trying to scramble with Tebow. Its great when your ends are real fast and you finally get a D to contain them.

Then against OSU, I'm 6-0. I love it! I've put up 40+ in 5 of those and 50+ in 3 of those. Not to mention, holding them under 20. Its always great to run up the score on them.

The biggest thing about cheesers is you can find a way to stop them occasionally on defense, but on offense, you have to make sure you score almost every time. The new automotion feature made it great when they would try to blitz a ton of players. I usually use Vtech's playbook because they have shotgun so I would call a pass play to Hart about 5-6 times a game that would go for a TD if he would blitz a ton. Well after a few times, they stop blitzing and then I can run. Then you throw that screen to Manningham, make a move and BAM! Touchdown!

Come on dude, its just a video game.  I don't play online but who cares if you play conservatively or you go for it everytime,  you're trying to win right?  If they go for it then stop them and get the field position.  Remember JUST A GAME!!!

No one cares if you go for it on like 4th and 1 or 4th and 2, but when people do take advantage of the game, it just gets annoying. In NCAA 07 for the 360, you could just run fly routes all day. It was pretty much, every person pick OSU as their team and either scramble with Smith, or bomb it to Ginn.

Real football players like to play the game how a football game is meant to be played, like a football simulation, meaning run the ball and pass the ball. This also means rarely scrambling with a QB unless its an option, and also occasionally going deep. Calling the same 3 plays all game just because they work is taking advantage of the game. There are ways to stop them, just not every time.

Dead on.  You said you didn't play online; so, you don't know exactly what I'm talking about.  You got guys that try taking advantage of every freakin' glitch and imperfection the game offers.  Then, when that doesn't work they quit on you or "lose" connection.  EA Sports NCAA video games are known as sports simulation meaning that they try to simulate real life.  How many times in real life would a team go for it on 4th and 13 inside their own 30 yard line when the game isn't on the line?!  If I wanted to play a game like that, I'd pick up a copy of NFL Blitz or NFL Street.

I want to play the game the way it's meant to be played not against some joker PERIOD.

no, I play NCAA online. I experience the same things you do though. Occasionally there will be straight up players that pick UF or WVU, but most of the time when someone picks either of those schools, I expect a ton of QB scrambling and long bombs.

Here's the important question... have they FINALLY gotten The Big House right?  OR will they still have the tunnel raised as if construction equipment is going to be coming in and out?  Furthermore, how hard is it to have the team run out and touch the banner?  Is that too much to ask?  Really?

Also, is the bump note still in The Victors?

I love the NCAA franchise, but goofing up these little things never fails to be really disappointing.

Yah I agree, how hard is it too add a signature entrance and get the fight song right?

some other things I hope they change are:
-solo celebrations, since when does someone score a TD and the teamjust stands while the RB or WR dances by himself?
-On custom Scheduled game, be able to pick play time, for me a huge matchup between say Florida and Oklahoma should not be a noon game.
-better crowd reactions, the crowd should not be as loud on a 1 yard gain as they should on a 80 yd touchdown to gain the lead.

those are some things I myself hope they change.
