Irish arrogance accumulates - Thursday, July 24, 2008 11:31 PM
so I'm reading on an ND board (they're quite the entertainment) about a senior in HS who has committed to them, saying I "guarantee that we will beat USC the next three years."

I'm not sure how arrogance gets passed on to EVERYTHING associated with Notre Dame.  First it's the head coach, the players, and now, HIGH SCHOOL seniors, who aren't even signed to the team yet.   Save the fact that they also have to beat the competition within the program.  and this guy is saying they're gonna beat the most loaded team in CFB not once, but 3 years in a row?

you can see why I LOVE seeing ND getting their arse kicked on a regular basis

I really have to believe that the writer of that article intentionally left out a key 'in' from that sentence.  I think that sentence should have read "I guarantee that we will beat USC in the next three years"  That sounds like a fair yet still over-inflated guarantee.

Man I freaking hate ND and everything that they do and say.

Didn't little Jimmy Claussen have some guarantees of his own that he is having trouble coming through with? It's the same thing as rookies in the NFL running their mouth, wait till they get there and see how easy it is.

You guys have NO idea how bad ND arrogance is. I live 5 miles from ND. All the bars in the area are ND bars. But you can bet I wear my Michigan shirts proudly anywhere I go around here. :D I can't tell you how many fights I have almost got into with drunk, arrogant ND fans just because I have on a Michigan shirt. But you wouldn't believe some of the stuff these people have said to me. Did you know that most people in the area believe that ND will win the National Championship this year? Yea I always laugh in their faces when they tell me that one.

ND win NC this year?  Really?  Are you sure there wasn't a little sarcasm there?

Yep thats what some of the fans in the area are saying and yes its about football. Like I said, I just laugh at them. It is quite hilarious some of the stuff that comes out of their mouths. I'll never forget the time I heard that Michigan was trying to be like ND with their colors and what not. I had to school that guy real quick.

It usually takes all my self restraint when dealing with ND fans.

That's why I can't stand living where I do, I have to listen to this crap every single day so I know how you all feel.
