ORIGINAL: maize3561 But saying bowl games are how people compare confrences is not true. What is the BIG TEN's record against the SEC in the last 2 yrs bowl games? Overwhelmingly in favor of the BIG TEN but all anyone talks about is the sec against osu in the last 2 nc games. The Big Ten is 3-3 vs the SEC the past 2 years in bowl games. Whether or not it is right, I think the bowl games are how people compare conference strength these days and the SEC is 13-5 the past 2 years in bowl games with 2 NCs. That is why sports TV and radio are SEC love fests and at this point in time (especially being a Buckeye fan) I have no right to complain.

ORIGINAL: egami I think what he is saying that the justification the Bucknut was using was an deliberate, thinly veiled jab at UM rather than a legitimate logical reasoning as to why his team fails to win championships. Typical response by many posters to project failure on your rival. I was not using Michigan's loss to ASU as a reason why OSU failed to win the NC last year. I was using it as a reason why many think the Big Ten is overrated. Last year many of the posters here were screaming about how stupid OSU and PSU fans were for cheering when Michigan lost to ASU and they were right. Now I am saying the same thing but somehow it is disrespectful. I guess it is true that only Nixon can go to China. Take a breather...allow some oxygen to get to your brain...then read what I said again. I didn't say you were using the ASU loss for Ohio State's failure. I said you were: a) making a jab at UM, which you were... and b) using Michigan as a scape goat for your teams failures in BCS games, which you were... ORIGINAL: Bucki78 ... My experience of people hating on OSU the past few years is because many think they cruise through an easy conference schedule and get an undeserved high ranking because of it. It is hard to argue against this when the 2nd best team in the conference loses at home to a I-AA team.

I really don't understand the Nixon referrence.
tOSU was THE leader in graduation rate and a role model for discipline during the Woody Hayes-Earle Bruce era. Cooper destroyed that legacy. RR is UM's version of Cooper. I will enjoy seeing UM fans kicked off your high horse when arrests pile up.

ORIGINAL: Bucki78 ORIGINAL: Wolverine4Life Just because somewhere around 80% of college football fans are completely ignorant of anything outside their own team that became much bigger than it should have been. So far 25 people have participated in this thread. Would you please tell me which 5 are not completely ignornant of anything outside of their own team? ORIGINAL: Wolverine4Life To be honest, I think OSU biting it on the biggest stage two years in a row (along with us and ILL disappearing in the Rose Bowl) has been a much bigger hit than losing to ASU. In terms of conference strength you maybe right because bowl games are how many compare conferences but please don't tell me you would rather see your team lose to a I-AA team than lose in the championship game. Just because we mostly talk about Michigan does not mean we know nothing of football around the country. I make no claims to be a football expert, but I do at least try to keep track of what's going on around the country as I'm sure at least several other people on here do. I'm sure there are even Buckeyes that do the same thing, although I'm pretty sure people in South Bend are not aware that football is played elsewhere. My point was simply that the upset was made into even more than what it should have been because most people had never heard of ASU and did not know how good they were. Or that their style of offense had given us fits. It's still a big upset, I just don't think it's monumental except by perception. I agree with you wholeheartedly about losing in the national championship game. But that wasn't what I was talking about. Despite which one I would choose, The Big Ten's poor showing in BCS games the last couple years has done more to damage our image than the one game against ASU did.

ORIGINAL: egami Take a breather...allow some oxygen to get to your brain...then read what I said again. I suggest you take some of your own advice. I said you were: a) making a jab at UM, which you were... I never denied that. In fact I bet I will do it again some time in the near future. and b) using Michigan as a scape goat for your teams failures in BCS games, which you were... ORIGINAL: Bucki78 ... My experience of people hating on OSU the past few years is because many think they cruise through an easy conference schedule and get an undeserved high ranking because of it. It is hard to argue against this when the 2nd best team in the conference loses at home to a I-AA team. How can I be using Michigan's loss as a scape goat for OSU's losses in the last 2 BCS champ games? I didn't even mention the BCS champ games. If you actually read my posts you would know that I originally replied to a comment about OSU being overrated. Also the only mention I have made to the BCS champ game was when I said that everything was lined up for Michigan to be there in 2007. OSU's failures in the last 2 BCS champ games were because they lost to better teams and I would like to see where I have said otherwise. The current idea that OSU is an overrated football program is helped by Michigan's loss to App State. If OSU found a way to knock off LSU it would have stopped the BCS champ game failures but many still would have claimed that the Buckeyes didn't belong there in the first place, just like countless fans around here still claim Florida didn't belong in 2006.

ORIGINAL: Bucki78 How can I be using Michigan's loss as a scape goat for OSU's losses in the last 2 BCS champ games? Because it's all tied together...you are attributing the fact that people give you flack about a weak B10 schedule due to Michigans loss to App St. You, as a Buckeye fan, want respect you haven't earned. You're projecting the problem on to Michigan, but the fact is the real failure and lack of respect comes from the fact that fall on your face in big games outside the B10, where it counts to the rest of the world. Quit blaming us for your teams shortcomings. Your lack of respect from the non-B10 teams is because of your own failure.

So let me get this striaght, OSU wins the Big Ten and gets to the BCS champ game in a "rebuilding season" while Michigan craps out in week 1 the year they were supposed to win it all and OSU is overrated? Yes, you've been grossly over-matched so I'll give you that one.

No. He is referring to the absolute arrogance of the Michigan fans who are obsessed with belittling the only team in the conference with a pulse the past couple of seasons, in spite of their own team choking every time the nation's eyes were upon them, and sometimes even when they weren't. He is referring to the pathetic collapse of a senior ladden Michigan team, several of whose seniors returned to "beat the Buckeys and win a National Championship." He is referring to the collapse of an best-defense-ever-in-college-football conceding over 4.5 yards a carry on the ground at the end of the year, and getting smoked through the air repeatedly in the bowl game. I could add more, but I think that should be sufficient explanation. Hope it helps.

It even works when you remove 'Michigan' and replace it with 'OSU', especially the "nation's eyes upon them" part. I mean, if anyone would know about this it would be the Buckeyes considering your monumental beatdowns and collapses at the hands of Florida and LSU. Maybe next time you could keep it within 2 touchdowns? You're trying hard here but the problem is you don't have anything to laugh about. But keep trying. Or better yet, maybe spend your time worrying about your own team and the problems they have as opposed to trolling around a Michigan forum. It's kinda creepy.

it purely cuz of fans. i live in ohio and i only know one person that i can have a decent college football conversation with. they are to much of homers, and if you say one thing bad about their team they for the most part talk about 4 straight years but they always forget that even with all that they are still like 14 games under .500 against big blue still. i for one hate 90 percent of f**keye fans
