Bucki78, you are pretty high and mighty about your Buckeyes. Short term memory I guess. I gurantee App State would have beat any of the clown school's OSU played out of conference last year. I'm just glad you went out of state for some matchups this year. Considering the troubles you had stopping Illinois's spread offense i would have liked to see a OSU/App State matchup. You are obviously not the normal buckeye fan. I have friends/family that are buckeyes that are great people too, but that's not the majority from my experiences. If you are so confident about your buckeye fans walk around columbus during football season wearing maize and blue or put a michigan sticker on your car for the day and park it on High St. Then you might get a different perspective.

ORIGINAL: Bucki78 I keep hearing this fan base argument for why everyone hates Ohio State, yet when I go to away OSU games I always hear, "I hope you guys beat Michigan." Since my family and I are such **** Buckeye fans, I would think that one of these trips I would hear the opposite. My experience of people hating on OSU the past few years is because many think they cruise through an easy conference schedule and get an undeserved high ranking because of it. It is hard to argue against this when the 2nd best team in the conference loses at home to a I-AA team. now see you're just flat out being disrespectful. it would be one thing to make comments like the ones you have in this thread on a osu board but its another to come and say it on a Michigan forum. i don't appreciate it.

ORIGINAL: Bucki78 ORIGINAL: TK23Blue People love to hate the Lakers and Yankees because they are/were perennial champions, just like people hated the Cowboys and the Raiders in the 70's. When you have consistently racked up championships, people are going to hate you. Now I have personally been all over high street, and partied in the front yard of a house on a main side street before the Michigan OSU game 2 years ago 11-0 vs 11-0 wearing my Chuck Woodson away jersey. I clearly knew what I was getting myself into, but wasnt sure how bad it would get. Everyone that walked by gave the ass hole chant, we had footballs and tennis balls thrown at us from yards away, pretty standard stuff. Actually had some people invite me over and gave me a drink and just wanted to talk and get my opinion on things which was a surprise. My question is, cause I have never done it before, what it would be like wearing a troy smith jersey around the big house before the game. And is definately something I may try and experiment with in 2 years just so I can see what it is like from the other side. I am not all that familiar with the campus and big house area. I know the high school and the golf course are right there and main places to park and tailgate. I dont think there is much student housing around like there is at OSU. But it is definately something I plan on trying to do next time the game is in AA. I think OSU fans are some of the most obnoxious people out there, but thats because whenever I am around them lately they win, and I am wearing a Michigan shirt. I would challenge an OSU fan to wear a Michigan uni around high street and columbus the day of the game and see what its like.

In the same time Michigan will have played only 2 non-conference road games, both being that terribly long trip to South Bend. How many thousands of square feet do you have in that glass house of yours?

Why do you even care and try to defend yourself when you know every little word you say more people are going to criticize you! Yes we know your team has been good the last 5 years. and no we dont care about who you play and how you did. As michigan fans we are always going to hate you OSU fans. but i will have to say this fans up in Ann Arbor are not asses like 85 percent of the OSU fans. i know this living in c bus for a good chunk of my life i been to the last 5 osu michigan games and OSU fans taunting is like a million time worse than what people do in AA. At the shoe if you wear anything michigan your guarenteed to get a drenching of beer during the game. ive learned to accept it. but in AA all you get is the loud taunting. the problem with OSU is that OSU football is the only thing the state has to take pride in a fans take it way to far. But OSU has well earned their title on this list. Who knows though PSU might just steal it from you, slowly they are becoming real bad too.

The fact is, OSU could beat Michigan the next 10 years in a row but their fans will never escape the inferiority complex they suffer from when it comes to anything-Michigan. They are obsessed with everything we say and do. (Could help to explain the Buck fans on this forum who are 'Wolverine Immortals'.) Maybe Bucki78 does hear "Beat Michigan" at a lot of the road games he goes to, but apparently these aren't the people who voted in the "5 Sports Franchises We Love To Hate". This is not Michigan fans hating OSU. These everybody else in the free world. Your fight is with them, not us.

ND fans?? Answer--zero, it is exactly as you stated an inferiority complex that most "University of Ohio State" fans suffer from. I certainly don't lurk or hang out at Bucknuts--why would I?

Our loss to App State added a tremendous amount of fuel to the fire that the Big Ten is a weak conference. So has OSU's last two performances in the national championship games....although the nation likes to forget OSU outgained LSU this past year. I believe the nation as a whole tends to dislike Ohio State for a variety of reasons, part of which is their "coasting through an easy Big Ten Sched" and part of which is the few Ohio State fans that give the whole fan base a bad name by rioting in the streets and harassing opposing fans. But lets face it guys, a lot of people hate Michigan too, because we are proud (they call it arrogant ) of our tradition and academic excellence.

Just because somewhere around 80% of college football fans are completely ignorant of anything outside their own team that became much bigger than it should have been. It was a huge upset, yes, but they were a good football team and on that day they showed it. To be honest, I think OSU biting it on the biggest stage two years in a row (along with us and ILL disappearing in the Rose Bowl) has been a much bigger hit than losing to ASU. OSU fans have no reason to get condescending. You have beat for a few years now. Just like we did in the years before. Try to be an adult about it.

I think what he is saying that the justification the Bucknut was using was an deliberate, thinly veiled jab at UM rather than a legitimate logical reasoning as to why his team fails to win championships. Typical response by many posters to project failure on your rival. So, disrespectful? Sure, no question it was deliberate, but I kind of run with the mentality that that's to be expected in the Internet message board community. :)

Some? It feels good to be hated. But I am surprised ND isn't on the list. I guess more than a decade of fall from the elite programs will do that to you. btw, TK23, on the "inferiority complex." It made my day.
tOSU was THE leader in graduation rate and a role model for discipline during the Woody Hayes-Earle Bruce era. Cooper destroyed that legacy. RR is UM's version of Cooper. I will enjoy seeing UM fans kicked off your high horse when arrests pile up.

bucki does that not make you think ummm please beat the WINNIGEST football team in the NCAA, like a fan at a royals game say hey I hope you beat the yankees... It does not mean hey we dont think you guys are a holes just beat THE BEST. Most people want to see the best beat unless they are your team. Using that same logic every time I am at a home game where the other teams fans have traveled to see the BIG HOUSE all they can say in the tailgate is I can not belive how great the fans are here we made the mistake of going to colonbus and those were the biggest arse"s of fans I have ever seen. I will NEVER tell someone to go to a game there. NOT even my worst enemy because they dont know what a fan is. Just how they can cause damage to their property. I have also been to many road games including sparty and they all echo the same. I think the words are hey dont worry this isnt colonbus we are fans of our team not vandals... If you win we hate you but we wont try to assault you on your way back to your car.
