Thoughts on his coming out of retirement?  Poor Rogers...what did he do to deserve this?  Imagine Green Bay saying we don't want you back and Favre still wants to play.  All of a sudden Minnesota picks him up for a Super Bowl run because they don't have complete confidence in Jackson!!

Yes Favre has had a great career and been the face of the program, but has any other super star put their organization through what he has the past 3-5 years? I mean EVERY off season, he's a little drama queen biotch wanting everyone to kiss his butt to return. I'm sick of hearing about him. Go ride your Snapper with a Bud heavy.

If Brett Favre wants to come back and play, the Packers would be CRAZY not to say YES.
 
One question and I heard this from Scott Van Pelt today on radio, "Who gives you the best chance to win a Super Bowl, Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre?"
 
I think the question is very easy to answer.

I agree that the Packers need to take Favre back if he wants to play but this drama over his retirement is BS. 
 
He needs to make up his mind.

It is being reported that Favre has asked for a release from the Packers.  This should make things interesting in Green Bay.

From what I understand, the GM has been secretly wanting Brett to retire so he is able to start his own legacy in Green Bay. Not that he doesn't appreciate what he has done for Green Bay, but it is the same sort of situation as Jerry Colangilo had in Chicago with Jordan. That didn't work out to well for him.

Unreal.  Yet another guy who doesn't know when to say when.  I could half way understand coming back to Green Bay (I think it's pretty clear they don't want him) but to ask for a release to play for someone else??  He would basically wreck his legacy to play one more year and for what?  A Super Bowl?  Sorry Brett-there are no openings in Indy or New England but we'll keep your resume on file.  Minnesota?  Here's the vision I have: He signs with Minny, gets hurt the 2nd game of the year, rides the bench all season, the starter goes down in the Wild Card game, Favre comes off the bench to bring some of that 'ol magic back, gets sacked 5 times, throws 4 picks, the Vicodins..er..Vikings lose, he "re-retires", but this time as a fool and washed-up shell of his former self.  Yep. That's the way to be remembered all right.

Your right, i can see it now. Just like everyone saw him have one of his best years of his career, only to not win the MVP because Tom Brady had an other-wordly year. And besides, who cares about redemption? It's not like he threw an interception in overtime of the conference championship to lead the giants to the superbowl or anything. Who wouldn't want to redeem themselves from that?

   I feel really bad for Aaron Rodgers, he has waited patiently for his opportunity and now that he has it, Favre might take it back from him?  When Favre made the decision to retire the packers moved on, just like Brett should have.  I think it ridiculous we are even talking about him coming out of retirement.  Why even announce retirement if you have any urge to possibly playing football again.  He is a pre-madonna.

Only a few examples, but stars want to keep playing and if their team doesn't want them anymore, they will go find a new team.

Check out my post on 7/8 on this thread.  Favre has his faults, I'll give you that, but he still gives the Packers the best chance to win.

Sorry, for the confusion.  I believe that fans think their players should retire in their original jerseys, and I'm saying that is not the case anymore.  I agree with you that it's a business and guys just want to play.  If not for their original team, then someone else.  I don't have a problem with that at all.

My problem is with the Packers and the way they are handling this situation.  The NFL is a WIN-NOW league.  Brett Favre gives you the best chance to win now.  It's not about what's best in 4 years.  The Packers have one of the Top 4 teams in football this year, but that's only if Brett Favre is playing.

Favre won't be anything but a backup with any team as a 17 year veteran isn't the long term answer at QB for any team.

As I said in my previous post, the NFL is a win-now league and any team that has a chance to win now would and should take him.  Of course he's not going to be around for 5 more years, but who cares.  Half the coaches and players on each team won't be around their same team in 5 years.
