Steve Shields
Before Marty Turco, before Josh Blackburn there was
Steve Shields. Shields led the Wolverines to the NCAA tournament
four consecutive times (91-94) ending a 14 year dry spell.
Shields also set the NCAA record for wins as goaltender that has since
been broken by Marty Turco. After a great save the
crowd would bow to him in appreciation.
