John Wangler, 1979-80, QB
John Wangler was part of the most exciting passing
tandem (along with WR Anthony Carter) in Michigan Wolverine history.
An efficent QB who managed great statistics especially considering
that he played in a time when Michigan was known more for its running
game than anything else. Wangler is second (162, 1979) on the all time
Michigan efficiency rating for a season and fourth (143.6, 1979-80)
for his career. He also is second on the most average yards per
completion in a game (33.8, 1979), second on the season list (18.3,
1979) and fifth on the career list (15.2, 1976-80).
