4/13/01- Ripped Off on Ebay A few weeks ago, I had a rather unwelcome surprise. While scanning Ebay for Wolverine memorabilia I found someone selling reproductions of my pictures. To make it worse the photos were autographed by current student athletes. Now first, I was upset that someone was trying to sell my pictures without my permission. You will NEVER see my pictures for sale. End of story. If you ever do please let me know for it's being done without my permission. I make no money off of Michigan student athletes. I'll leave that to the NCAA and the Athletic Department. Occasionally, I give photos away to friends or acquaintances but that's it. Second, I was upset that the photos were being sold as 'autographed.' The NCAA prohibits amateur athletes from making money from autographs or photos while they are still in school. So this person selling photos was not only taking advantage of me but the courtesy of Michigan student athletes. Hockey players are great when it comes to autographs for fans. The person who had these items autographed is not a fan but rather a leach. When I discovered the stolen items I immediately contacted the seller and Ebay to have the items removed. The seller reluctantly agreed to remove the items and Ebay made sure that the auctions were canceled. If you ever see any of my photos being sold please let me know... Go Blue! |
