BRAYLON EDWARDS #1

Braylon Edwards
hold many Michigan football records. He also bore the brunt of
great expectations when he began wearing the coveted #1 jersey at
Michigan. He made spectacular catches and occasionally dropped
some easy passes but he was always the exceptional kind of player
who couldn't take your eyes while he was on the field.

Braylon was
instrumental in the stirring multiple OT victory over Michigan State
and but he also took some lumps on the way to the NFL. He was
late for a few team meetings and felt wrath of Coach Lloyd Carr who
took the unusual step of criticizing his star player in the media.
Walking The Walk...
Well, Braylon
isn't holding that against his old coach or his team. He has
decided to be the first player
in Wolverine history IN ANY SPORT
to endow a scholarship. He also acknowledged the influence of
former Wolverine great Anthony Carter who inspired him to play wide
to receiver.
Many former
Wolverines talk about what a great honor it was for them to play at
Michigan. Braylon is the first to endow a scholarship to help
future Wolverines follow in his footsteps.
1 to 1
I attended the 1
to 1 scholarship event where Braylon announced his endowment.
Many great
Wolverines were in attendance but none bigger than Braylon Edwards.
He is truly #1.
