UM/Illinois Prediction
[Old/Adv/Featured.htm]
|
Michigan |
Illinois |
|
Offense |
|
Michigan should tear the Illini up. The Wolverines really
need to open an early comfortable lead and get backup QB Clayton
Richard and some the backups RB's some serious game time.
Advantage- Michigan |
|
Defense |
|
Some fans were disappointed that this unit didn't
keep the Gophers of scoreboard more last week. The truth
is that when the game was on the line this squad got the job
done. Clearly the true strength of the Wolverines this
season. Henne and Hard are impressive on offense but no
player has been as consistently dominant as DT Gabe Watson.
Advantage- Michigan |
|
Special Teams |
|
The Wolverines will continue to spectacularly inconsistent in
every aspect of special teams. Kind of like a 4th of July
firecracker. You don't know if you're going to get a
spectacular display or a explosion in your face. It won't
matter versus the Illini.
Advantage- Michigan |
|
Intangibles |
|
It will be practically impossible for the Wolverine
NOT to look past this game to Purdue next week. A victory
over Michigan would make Illini season worthwhile.
Advantage- Illinois |
|
Prediction |
|
Michigan will win but won't pull away until the
second half. |
|
Michigan 41 Illinois 13 |
