UM/MSU Prediction
[Old/Adv/Featured2.htm]
|
Michigan |
MSU |
|
Offense |
|
Michigan has the receivers and the superior running back.
MSU has the high flying (and no longer high) QB with the rocket
arm. The teams are in perfect balance. If UM can
protect John Navarre he can hang with Jeff Smoker. Look
for Michigan to leverage their advantage at running back. If
Michigan can put together some long run based drives they can
keep Smoker of the field.
Advantage- Even |
|
Defense |
|
MSU has been a surprise on defense this season.
Michigan has been incredibly inconsistent. Which UM
defense will show up? The team that limited Purdue to 3
points or the the squad that was routed by Oregon and Minnesota?
I really don't know.
Advantage- Even |
|
Special Teams |
|
Steve Breaston is awesome. Either MSU surrenders field
position by kicking away from him or they risk having him
unleash one of his monster returns.
Advantage- Michigan |
|
Intangibles |
|
MSU has some powerful motivation for this one.
The Wolverines punished then 49-3 last year, and with Jeff
Smoker on the just say no road tour they are formidable.
Not to mention MSU's penchant for cheating.
Advantage- MSU |
|
Prediction |
