11/22/01- IT'S GREAT TO BE A MICHIGAN WOLVERINE!! Happy Thanksgiving! Reasons to be thankful for the Wolverine fan: Football- That even with a few bad bounces going against us (and a crooked MSU scorekeeper) we still have a chance to share the Big Ten Title and go to a BCS Bowl game...That Bo Schembechler went out on top and didn't overstay his time like PSU Coach Joe Paterno has....That we can count on beating OSU just about ever year...That we're not Michigan State...That we've been to bowl games for 27 straight years...Tom Harmon, Desmond Howard, and Charles Woodson...That we just reload not rebuild...The winged helmet...The Victors...The Big House...The huge scoreboards at Michigan Stadium...The Michigan Marching Band...That the field at Michigan Stadium isn't being torn up in big chunks like previous years...That so many Wolverine Alumni are making their mark in the NFL...Following the Band from Revelli Hall to the Football Stadium on game days...Anthony Carter...Chris Perry...Marquise Walker...That Lloyd Carr is one of the classiest coaches in the entire NCAA...1997...That former Wolverine Tom Brady has finally been named the starting QB over someone named Drew (and he won't have to share time!) Hockey- That Wolverines consistently make the NCAA Tournament...That the Wolverines have won more Hockey National Championships than any other school...That Red Berenson is still around- he's a living legend...Brendan Morrison...Marty Turco...C-YA...Goalie- Sieve, Goalie- Sieve...1996...1998...Steve Shields...That the Wolverines won more games in the 1990's than any other team...Yost Ice Arena...The new scoreboard...That we didn't lose to MSU at the outdoor hockey game at Spartan Stadium...That so many Wolverine Alumni are making their mark in the NHL. Basketball- 1989...Glen Rice...Rumeal Robinson...Cazzie Russell...That someday Crisler Arena will get torn down...The Fab 5...That Tommy Amaker has the Wolverines back on track...The Maize Rage...That we haven't heard about any of our basketball players into trouble off the court since the coaching change.
