Atlanta signed free-agent defenseman Chris Tamer (UM 90-93 ), whom it selected from the New York Rangers in last month's expansion draft. Tamer, 28, had a goal, five assists and 124 penalty minutes in 63 games with the Rangers and Pittsburgh last season.

UM QB Drew Henson (98-?) professional baseball stats so far this season with the New York Yankees' class A affiliate (Tampa).  .226 batting average, 6 home runs, 25 RBI.  He has struck out 45 times in 155 at-bats.

Former Wolverine Blake Sloan has signed a one year contract with Dallas of the NHL.  Blake helped Dallas win the Stanley Cup this past season.

Former Wolverine Mercury Hayes (UM 92-95) has been cut from Montreal of the CFL.  Hayes caught a touchdown pass to complete one of the greatest comebacks in UM history.  Read about that game
