The current issue of Sports Illustrated (11/12/01) has a nice article the
Chicago Bears (NFL). Former Wolverines David Terrell and Anthony
Thomas are mentioned prominently. The issue also has a brief article
on the UM/MSU game- "...Smoker lined up the Spartans and spiked the ball
with :01 showing on the scoreboard. That single tick remained because
of the quick finger of the Michigan State employee manning the clock
upstairs. Replays seem to show that the clock was stopped
prematurely-before the ref waved the spike play dead-giving Michigan State
an unwarranted shot at victory...After the game Duckett remarked on how
Michigan State had played hard for 60 minutes. That it did-and a
little more..." [Editor's Note: Even the national press knows
that MSU stole the game.]

Survey Results- 77% of respondents think that the clock was run incorrectly
at the end of the MSU game. 69% thought that the officiating of the MSU
game was terrible. 57% correctly predicted that margin of victory over
Minnesota would be over 14 points. 51% of respondents choose to ignore
the basketball program.

Survey Results- 67% of respondents correctly predicted that the MSU game
would be the most difficult test left on the Wolverine schedule. 55% wanted
to see Michigan face Nebraska in a BCS Bowl (not much chance of that
happening now.) 49% chose Remy Hamilton as the kicker that they'd want to
attempt a 40 yard field goal to win the game. 74% think that Marquise
Walker is a genuine Heisman candidate.
Only 7% thought that Michigan would lose to Michigan State.
